The Blue Jays traveled to Leetonia this evening for a non-conference matchup with the Bears. After jumping out 10-2, the Jays let the Bears back in it and were tied 11-11 at the end of the 1st. The 2nd quarter was much of the same as the Jays jumped out to a 27-11 but the Bears wouldn’t go away. Going into the half the Jays lead 29-18. In the 2nd half the Jays stretched the lead out to as much as 20 points but the Bears continued to fight back. Late in the 4th the Jays were able to ultimately put the game away and were victorious, 59-47.
Jackson Milton was led by Junior Mason Robison with 22 points. Fellow Junior Nick McGinnis scored 9 respectively.
This was an important win for the Jays heading into the end of the season. Jackson Milton will host Lowelville Friday evening at Don Patton Gymnasium in the final MCAC contest of the season. JV will start at 5:30pm with Varsity to follow.
